A Dignified Human

Rise up, my friend,
Never lower yourself.
Let not anger stain your speech,
Nor uncouth words betray your spirit.
Such vulgarity does not befit you,
You are destined for greater things.

Hold your head high,
With planted feet,
firmly upon the ground of virtue.
Reach for the heights of higher values,
Yet be content with who you are.

Be present, steady, radiant, and dignified.

Cultivate within yourself:
Wisdom,
Kindness,
Thoughtfulness,
Awareness,
And Generosity.

Think of others before yourself,
For in lifting them,
You lift yourself.
And in serving them, 
You ascend.

A dignified human,
Is not merely born, 
But carefully crafted,
In the quiet space of noble choices,
And crowned in the light,
Of every thought, emotion and deed.
