In a world where everyone is constantly watching and judging one another, this is so important. That goes back to one of the questions in my last essay, What do I want out of life? I, what makes Me happy? Not the crowd. We are individuals, and we must listen to our hearts, our Self🤍
Yes, MJ, being yourSelf is what makes you happy. You don't have to prove anything to anyone in this world. This gives you tremendous freedom and power.
Love the article Meredith - pple should like each other for who they are, this is also what makes us special, a one off - just to be who we are is all we need to be - to be anything else is not being real with ourselves, & that's what matters the most!
What a thought-provoking reflection. I used to always remind myself to “be yourself” every time I walked into a room or stood up to teach. It often felt like shifting gears in a car—that brief pause, that hesitation before the change settled in. For a long time, I carried that moment of hesitation each time I tried to ground myself in authenticity. But now, at this stage in my life, I no longer need to remind myself….
That’s such a powerful shift. It’s like authenticity has moved from being a conscious practice to becoming your natural state of being. No more shifting gears—just driving in alignment with who you are. That’s perfection in yoga.
That Oscar Wilde quote gets a lot of traction! I use it every year in my PE class! Because I have some "creative movers" and that reminder to be themselves is perfect! Very cool article! Thank you!

Such great advice! Sounds so easy until self doubt creeps in.
You're so right. And that's where the whole mess starts, isn't it?
Yes unfortunately, but I'm working on it!
We have to Dana. There is nothing more important for us to do.
