Wise words.. people are confused on the looking out as oppose to looking in.

In Hawaii there is a law against distracted walking. You cannot walk down a street, and especially in a big city like Honolulu or Waikiki, and be distracted by being on your phone. Can you imagine if that was a standard for big cities? How engaged people would be. Also can you imagine how people would fight it because they are so addicted to their phone.

It’s a good start to have laws against walking while on the phone, but banning devices won’t solve the real issue. People aren’t just distracted by their screens, they’re distracted by their own minds. The phone is just the outlet for an inner restlessness that was already there.

Devices aren't banned. People just can't use them while they’re walking on the street and crossing the street. If we have to keep the device in our pocket or in our purse because we don't have self-control then I guess that's what needs to happen.

More wise words - thank you.

At 65, though I have gotten better at this, I still find it hard to be not impatient. I am thankful for the increasing peace and slower pace that come with age. I remember how much harder it was when I was young(er).

Thank you Joe. Many things were tougher when we were younger due to ego. That subdues as we age 🙏

Our minds - as in your article - " the curse of the wandering mind" - how true this is in the monkey mind - i love the article, the truth of the matter is in our own minds, i love the T.E.A. the monkey mind, for us to put this learing into practice and then, with this practice - the return to peace that you speak of - only we can do this for ourselves, thankyou once again meredith for the renewed hope, of we can do this and we must!:_)
