Wow it all sounds so painful to me, and such a traumatic injury, only you can write such a positive & inspiring story in relation to your Fall - i am so happy to hear that you are back home, have had immediate surgery in Italy, now with Autumn here, you can focus on recovering in your beautiful place of the world - Italy sounds wonderful, also how they took care of you - good to hear that you remained happy to enjoy the rest of your holiday - may their not be too much knee pain in your recovery journey, and may you heal well - i do hope their will be some $ re-imbursement from your surgery, all the best always meredith x:_)x
Thanks Amilia xx I'm at the Dr in Denmark atm, waiting. It's great to be home. You know I don’t need holidays, but I do it for Paul. Living is a permanent holiday for me. Keep positive. Love always x
Oh Meredith, these are my favorite reads. There's so much that can be learned through those real life moments. I urge you again to consider sharing your story with the world via memoir. You are a natural story teller.
Best wishes to both you and Paul through this difficult time 🙏
Loved reading this. I especially love ‘Life is a flow of experiences. Some we welcome. Others we would never choose. And in that moment, we have a choice: to resist or to accept, to collapse or to remain steady.’ so much - it’s something I took away from doing Vipassana mediation and it changed my life for good. Had never heard of Vendanta, but am looking into it after your sharings. Thank you! Hope you recover well.
Reading this, I was struck by the samatvam/ stillness at the centre of it all. The fall, the surgery, the insurance blow, the crutches in Venice. And through all of it, you remained, somehow, you.
My Father died on April 10th, and your words stood out to me: "Nothing stays long enough to justify losing your balance" They felt like a hug today, as I navigate the circumstances around his passing. Thank you.
Learning over many years as you mentioned, when we view life as a series of experiences, it certainly helps to widen our perspective. Wishing you a gentle and full recovery.
Meredith, I wish you a successful recovery and that your knee is stronger than ever at the end!
Thank you so much for sharing your “experience,” I think all of us truly appreciate something this personal to remind each other that life DOES just unfold here and now and our response to that determines how we “experience” it.
Much love and peace to both you and Paul - thank you again for being such a beautiful light 😃
i fell of my bike hit the pavement broke my wrist and hit my face on a curb, had to have surgery, and punctured one of my lungs... my " meredith moment" :)
I loved reading this. I could feel your inner calm equanimity as you described the literal 'ups and downs' of the flowing thread of experiences. The most beautiful articulation was in your ongoing unconditional happiness.
We had a wonderful time Lee. No fall was going to dampen our joy. Arrived home yesterday afternoon. Soooo good to be home. Hope all is well your end xox
I really appreciated reading this and especially how you were able to live the teachings in real time. What a blessing you are okay and able to move forward in spite of all those setbacks .. and good to know you are home 🏠
Thanks Rachel. We just arrived home. So good to be here. We loved our time in Italy, but there's noth ing more comforting than being here. Look forward to reading you post tomorrow 🤍

Thank you MJ. Will give it some thought.
Sounds quite painful, but not a trace of victimhood. Hope you feel better soon, Meredith.
i’ve learnt to see setbacks opportunities to re-evaluate and savour life.

Vedanta is the source. It’s the philosophy of the Vedas, the most ancient spiritual texts.

Happiness doesn't change with what's happening outside. The body is outside, it should never disturb your inner peace.
Sounds like an unforgettable time Meredith, take good care, love and healing xo

Both Stoic and Victor Frankel advice.
That’s a lovely compliment.
