What a candid expression of change that really speaks to the heart. Your journey from superficial success to genuine self-connection is not only inspiring, but also a powerful reminder that lasting fulfillment comes from embracing our true selves. One that many of us have to learn, unfortunately, the hard way. Great read.

Beautiful story. Yes I love that book Vedanta Treatise by Parthasarathy.

Allie, you’re the first person I’ve come across on Substack who has read it.

Human Potential & Resilience's avatar

I recognized the teachings / truths in your beautiful writing.

It’s ingrained in me. i am very close to the author.

I love that. I have attended some of his lectures years ago, and studied for years with one of his U.S. teachers/disciples. I spent years reading or listening to disjointed material from the tradition, so when discovered this interpretation I appreciated it immediately for its more logical, systematic, thorough approach. (I’d be happy to interview you sometime for my publication.)

That’s amazing! Any one of the US teachers would be my colleague and friend. i was teaching Vedanta for 20+ years in Australia. I’d be happy to be interviewed. Where would you like to start?

Sure DM me by replying to my welcome email (or vice versa) and we can set it up.

Allow me to try to summarize this nice article: discover your dharma

Dharma is the one word says it all.

This was such a beautiful reflection on the evolution of purpose. The transition from fashion to philosophy feels like a shift from shaping the outer world to understanding the inner one—and yet, both are forms of design, just in different dimensions. It’s powerful to see how creativity can become a path to deeper truth. Thank you for showing that reinvention isn’t a detour—it’s often the most honest continuation of who we’re becoming.

Exactly what i needed to read on a Saturday Morning! Full of Caring & Experienced Wisdom, thankyou Meredith:_)

Love the 8 points in "discover what you love" a grt place to start, with committed genuine interest for self, - when we are true to ourselves, we come back home to the seat of our personal balance, (gut) we are calm, stand on solid ground, & respect ourselves, others & Nature-our most profound Natural Healer. Once we " Know Thyself" - we can also make positive statements to ourselves, resonate & truly feel, & live them.

So relevant this week - I wrote about my biggest regret and why facing it may have sparked something new. Many things I could have restacked. Thank you.

Life becomes so much more dimensional and beautiful when we allow ourselves to evolve rather than clinging to our self-imposed rigidity and roles based on how we wrap the ego in a pretty bow and deliver an appeasing one-sentence response when asked, "Who are you?"

I enjoyed reading about your personal evolution :) Some never meet this reflection and face this much self-honesty.

I particularly loved the ending, which served as a reminder to me: Do what you love in a way that helps others. I lost this element of my writing for a while, and it became all about self-processing and expression for the sake of inner understanding. Which I think is important and perhaps a stepping stone. As you read in my piece, Let's Ride, Reincarnated, I felt I wasn't "guiding" in good faith. But now I feel as if I am to self-express and share my words as my way of serving those who find their reflection in them. Thank you for the lovely reminder :)

This is so long-winded haha thanks for reading my essay goodbyeee

“Imagine yourself at 85. What would you regret not having done in your life?”

I had once asked myself something very similar. I had asked- If I were to look back on the last day of my life, what would have made it a truly fulfilling life? The answer was crystal clear!

It is so amazing how much simple introspection and sitting in silence with yourself can do. Your article provides a smooth bridge from something very abstract to something people can implement in their lives.

This is so very true.

Thank you Meredith for posting this. It reminds us all of how we really can connect with our true selves, who we truely are or our true/authentic nature. We all get sidetracked in life by identifying with and becoming attached to our ego and need to constantly remind ourselves (daily) to refocus and keep ourselves progressing to connect with our true selves/our nature until it becomes second nature. Nothing at all in this world comes without constant daily effort and that effort is what keeps us connected with our true nature. We need to keep working on ourselves to maintain progress. The Vedanta Philosophy (which I have now been studying for almost 15 years) is the only Phylosophy I have found to keep myself on track in life. Vedanta has helped me (in ten fold) more than any phsycologist could ever teach anyone.

Hi Mike yes we do need constant reminders to be true to our nature otherwise mind and ego are too powerful. I’m so glad to hear that Vedanta is the only philosophy for you.

Must say I’m quite surprised not to see more of Vedanta on Substack. Once I get this happy within Substack underway, I’m going to look at starting a Vedanta Substack.

Bye for now

Meredith 🙏
