I Will Never Charge for My Substack
The law of giving is greater than the law of earning.
A wise man once told me, “There are two ways to earn a living: one is to go out and get paid for a job. The other way is to be selfless and serve a cause greater than your own.”
People wonder how it’s possible to earn money by serving others. The thing is, when your thoughts are genuinely selfless, you will attract the wealth of the world to you.
Like the married woman who served a noble cause for 30 years, while her husband earned a living. There were times when he thought that she was a freeloader. After all, it was his earnings that paid for everything! Or so he thought.
Over the years, he received promotion after promotion and pay rise after pay rise. The question of how or why never crossed his mind. Unaware of the invisible and incredible power of selflessness, he was utterly convinced that his promotions and pay increases were solely due to his efforts.
The prosperity that came to them was phenomenal.
And that’s why I will never charge for my Substack. To do so would be to shrink something vast into something small. My writing is not a product; it’s an offering. I don’t sit down to write with the thought of “how will this earn?” but with the thought of “how might this serve?”
Most people, understandably, try to measure value in terms of transactions. Give me this, I’ll give you that. But true value is rarely measured in coins. It’s measured in clarity, in comfort, in the invisible lift of the spirit that sometimes arrives in a single sentence. If even one reader feels lighter, clearer, more alive because of a word I’ve written, then the work has already been paid for in full.
Of course, some choose to support financially — and for that, I’m deeply grateful. But support is not a condition here; it is a choice. Nothing essential will ever be locked away. I would rather trust in the mysterious law of selflessness than in the illusion of scarcity.
In the end, my faith is simple: when you give freely, life gives back in ways you could never have engineered. It may not always be money. It may be friendship, peace of mind, or opportunities that seem to appear out of nowhere. That invisible current has carried me this far, and I trust it will carry me further still.
So if you ever wonder why this space remains open, why the words flow freely without gates or conditions, it is because I believe in the law of selflessness.
That’s why I write. That’s why I give. That’s why this space will always remain open and free. The words here are not locked away, because they are not mine to keep — they are meant to be shared.

Please note: To avoid other authors scanning for inspiration, anything that I don’t want copied or that is too sensitive will go behind a paywall. This in no way changes my attitude.

Thank you for this dose of inspiration. 🙏 “That invisible current has carried me this far, and I trust it will carry me further still.” While I have faith in the current, reading this is taking away any lingering doubts…and encouraging me to really act on it—which I’m trying to do. Thank you for your words.
I'm learning this this year more than ever before.
